Brandy. 2001.
Brandy Liston was an Occupational Therapist, colleague, & friend, and prior
to Brandy’s passing in May 2001, she worked tirelessly to assist persons with
disabilities to achieve their greatest level of independence at home and/or in
their communities. Brandy also worked to educate the “non-disabled” on
disability issues. The AZ Disabilities Expo was started in October 2002 in
Brandy’s honor! The Awards are given out
each year to those persons who exhibit the same dedication and commitment to
people with disabilities.
Werner, Randy. 2005.
On December 30, 2005 the disability
community lost a great advocate, mentor, and friend-Randy Werner. When
Randy lost the use of his legs in the late 1980s, he used this as
motivation to assist others with disabilities to reach their full
potential &, along the way, he helped himself, too. Randy always had a
smile and a positive word for everyone!! We will miss him greatly!!
